No published levels; Levels.fyi L3-L5 buckets shown. No equity - flat posted base (often $200K) + discretionary bonus from a global profit-sharing pool.
Ranges aggregated from publicly-available sources. Treat the median (p50) as roughly representative; quartile bands reflect negotiation range. Have specific data points or corrections? Send them in.
Optiver is a global trading firm and market maker; its US engineering offices are Chicago, Austin, and New York. Its US postings are unusual in stating one base figure rather than a range, and that figure is $200K for graduate, mid-level, and most senior Chicago roles - H-1B filings agree, at $150K-$200K across 2020-2026. Total comp therefore turns on the discretionary bonus, which postings say is paid from a global profit-sharing pool; Optiver does not publish its size. Levels.fyi US reports put the overall median near $400K, with a median bonus near $200K. There is no equity. Above L4 the public sample is small, so the senior band is directional. Amsterdam and Sydney pay is not modelled.
Optiver does not publish an engineering ladder. L3/L4/L5 are Levels.fyi's standardized buckets for US reports. Optiver's Chicago postings state a single base figure rather than a range - $200K for graduate, mid-level, and most senior roles - so base varies far less than bonus.

Entry-level. Chicago graduate postings list a flat $200K base plus a discretionary bonus from a global profit-sharing pool. Reported entry-level totals run ~$314K-$351K. New grads start with Optiver's eight-week Global Academy.

Mid-level. Levels.fyi's US L4 median is ~$483K. Mid-level Chicago postings still list $200K base, so nearly all growth comes through the profit-sharing bonus, which moves with firm results.

Sparse public data - directional. Levels.fyi's US L5 median (~$447K) sits below its L4 median, a sign of few reports. Senior Chicago postings list $175K-$200K base; the upper base percentiles are widened, not sourced.
Cross-referenced against public reporting, state pay-transparency postings, and triangulated where source ranges disagreed. Last refresh: October 2026.
