'You've got to start with the customer experience and work backwards to the technology' is the closest thing Apple has to a founding engineering doctrine, and it shapes how even deeply technical interviews are scored. Apple engineers are expected to make architecture and implementation choices from the user's chair: the right technology is the one that produces the experience, not the one that is newest, most elegant to build, or most fun to talk about. The culture is also famously opinionated about simplicity - saying no to features, removing settings rather than adding them, and making the default behavior just work for the person who will never open preferences. In behavioral rounds this surfaces as a probe on the direction of your reasoning. When you describe a past decision, did the user's experience generate the requirements, or did you build the interesting system and then justify it?
